Hello Lucas,

I'm a Brazilian Geoserver user.

This happens not only on Geoserver 2.9 but also 2.8 (as far I tested).
It seems like really some bug on the localization schemes routines that
Geoserver uses.
It affects not only the version being displayed on the main page but
also it breaks other more important tasks making Geoserver fails for
some tasks.
As workaround what you can do is changing the default language in the
browser settings. If you change the default browser language to English
Geoserver will use the default English localization and everything works
as expected on the matter.

Cheers,
