Thanks, glad to hear this Justin! We don't want to use Java for the processes
and I think we also won't use GEOSCRIPT for our processing. I only intend to
use the Python interface to encapsulate later a bus behind where our process
register and accept requests (SOA, XMPP). Therefore I'm really interested to
have a python interface which enables me to place my hooks on all the WPS
communication steps, rather than process directly with the python interface.
Is there an approximate estimation when this is ready?

Betreff: Re: [Geoserver-users] Aysnc WPS servers with Python and status
Hi Thomas,
Unfortunately the scripting story for processes is still lagging behind in
terms of (a) being stable enough to really use and (b) taking advantage of all
the features geoserver process/wps provides such as asynchronous execution.
That said I am happy to report that we are soon to start on a project that is
going to fund these sorts of features and really push on the scripting aspect
of WPS in geoserver.

Hello,
after not following the Geoserver WPS story for some while I recently
discovered that the Geoserver WPS (2.2 RC1) is now capable of asynchronous
processes and supports a process status. My favorite way of implementing
processes is still via Python and therefore I'm interested in any
updates/changes to this approach, especially how I can set the current status
of my process or if there's a possible approach to push notifications to the
client or if the client needs to pull the process status periodically to get
aware of results!
Thanks a lot!
Thomas
