Not that I know of, unless either my understanding of GWC http headers is

I don't know, but if I had to guess, I'd go for the "broken browser" theory.
Some time ago I was in a restricted network with proxies and SSL on all the
network,
but consistently using invalid certificates for the SSL encryption, and IE
was the only
browser allowing me to get to GMail regardless of all the red flags that
HTTPS over
a proxy sending a invalid certificates raises (which sounds a lot like a
man in middle
attack): Chrome and Firefox would not even mind to show the usual "I
understand the
risk, go ahead anyways" link.
Mind, that was good for me, but taught me one more to stay the hell away
from the browser in question if I care just even a bit about security.
