Ok, so the procedure would be to use this plugin to create my own "PostGIS
raster fetching"-plugin. It's good to know that there is a possible solution,
but right now I'm working at so many different construction sites...from UI
(ExtJS4 doesn't works with Geoext), WPS Service Setup (WPS & Pyhton plugin both
not stable yet). That I would prefer to use a more ready and widely supported
solution by a standard Geoserver installation instead of another temporarily
homebrew workaround.

End of August sounds great. It's still in my time frame and I would use
filesystem based raster data for the meanwhile.

Btw: How is your spring auth method integration going along? This is also a
very interesting project!
