Well, I emerged the new xorg-server and my GUI crashed after just a few minutes. I think it was when I hit the right button on the mouse. That was after I re-emerged xorg-server with -hal in package.use. After that, I went back to the old xorg-server. Xorg-server with hal left me with no keyboard or mouse. For some reason, no clue as to why, my mouse wheel is working. It wasn't working when I logged back into KDE but a little while after sending the email, it just started working.
