Howdy,

This is on my OLD rig.  I try to do updates when something big comes out, a couple KDE updates for example.  Usually, it is about once a month or so.  I've had this problem for the last two or three times I synced, about a week apart.  At first, I thought maybe I caught the tree in a unstable state.  Maybe it wasn't quite all there for syncing.  Then I tried again and then again.  I tried unemerging a couple packages, checking for unstable packages but none of my usual tricks are working.  I just can't decode what emerge is trying to tell me.  I did find a ton of bugs that look similar but no solutions that I could find.  Here is the error.

root@fireball / # emerge -auUDN world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
Dependency resolution took 140.97 s (backtrack: 0/500).

!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:

sys-auth/polkit-qt:0

  (sys-auth/polkit-qt-0.200.0-r1:0/0::gentoo, installed) USE="" ABI_X86="(64)" pulled in by
(no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot)

(sys-auth/polkit-qt-0.200.0:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) USE="qt5 qt6" ABI_X86="(64)" pulled in by     >=sys-auth/polkit-qt-0.113.0[qt5(-)] required by (kde-frameworks/kauth-5.116.0-r1:5/5.116::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) USE="(policykit) -debug -test" ABI_X86="(64)"

It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously.  If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously.

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man
page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

Can anyone figure out what emerge wants me to do?

Thanks.
