Thanks, "rc" meaning "release candidate" makes sense. But still nobody pointed me to some sort of documentation of the Gentoo package version syntax. Does that really mean that the only available documentation of the Gen- too package version syntax is what we used to dub "executable documenta- tion", that is, the Python source code of "emerge"?
