vlc with plasma5 works fine for me here, I didn't have to do anything after upgrading plasma. But I was having similar issues long ago with plasma 4. Making explicit choices under phonon in system settings back then fixed that. i.e. not relying on some "default" hardware, be explicit -- Alan McKinnon alan.mckin...@gmail.com
