If Knoppix running with a 2.4 or 2.6 krnel? If it is 2.6 you may be able to save the kernel config with zcat /proc/config.gz >somefile Then compare it with your Gentoo config. Alternatively, do "tail -f /var/log/messages" while plugging the device in on Knopppix to see which modules are loaded. Comparing the output of lsmod before and after, and with the same on Gentoo, may also reveal some useful information. -- Neil Bothwick If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
