1. Why is it that when someone asks about ripping a cd into mp3's or ogg no
metions opening konq go to the side barclick the bottom star for services and
open audio cd browser? Every cd I have bought in the last 6 years or so have
had my3's and oggs on them already.

2. I have used 2 other brands of linux and on each one I have installed prboom
and ut for my kids. They always seemed to work better on linux (way cool).
Never had any problems with the sound on those two games, but when I started
using gentoo a small problem showed up. For some reason to get the sound
working each time I have to start the game and change the sound settings to
software 3D from hardware 3D shut down the game, restart the game change it
back to hardware 3D kill the game then start it back up and the sound works
Which is the only setting I get sound in. Or change the settings in xmms back
and forth to play mp3's or ogg.

3. For 3 years I have used the same modem (creative modem blaster with hcfpci
conexant chipset). I got it working in linux just before I switched to redhat
7.3 in mandrake. But for some reason gentoo keeps forgetting where it puts
the drivers at least once a month and I have to reinstall them. What could be
causing these things to happen?

A note to the ppl who made the ebuild for prboom. Please add timidity-
eawpatches as a dependency. It is required for the music to work.

Out of curiosity, how do you get a pgp key? I have read a lot of emails signed
by some pgp program or another along with a few various minor problems on the
list has made me alittle curious.
