After a little bit more thinking I chose a slightly different approach,
but using the /etc/X11/Sessions/fluxbox file.

I don't want to persuade all users on the box to use the programs I want
to use (although I'm currently the only one on the box, but used to
administer multi-user-environments :)) ), so I put something like
this in /etc/X11/Sessions/fluxbox

#!/bin/bash

if [ -e $HOME/.xsession ]
then
        . $HOME/.xsession
fi

fluxbox

So it uses the .xsession if it exists, otherwise it simply starts up fluxbox.

CU all,
Jens
