Just to be clear, the main reason for forcing default ABI is that you it guarantees sane dependencies. That is, if you do a regular dep on multilib package from non-multilib package: RDEPEND="x11-libs/libX11" you expect that dep to pull in the lib for native ABI. If that wasn't enforced, we'd have to use proper USE-deps in every package in the tree. -- Best regards, Michał Górny
