That'd require fairly hefty vdb changes. Which, whilst a good thing,
makes it very definitely a long term feature.

a) PROPERTIES can't be used to implement any mandatory feature, and b)
multiply half a second to however many packages there are using this
feature and add that to the resolution time. The metadata cache is
necessary.
