+1 (binding) - IPMC member (also Annotator PPMC member) We missed the cosmic moment when annotation was a hot topic, the standards were not quite done, and implementations were in demand—we arrived just after that...and the wind had gone out of most sails...and never came back.
I appreciate the opportunity for us to attempt to grow interest at the ASF, but it's clear this code and project (and what remains of that community) would be better served as a personal project on GitHub rather than a more formal ASF project.
