Hi all,

I agree … a full-blown MQTT broker fits perfectly into the landscape of IoT
projects. Especially as MQTT is currently really starting to gain a lot of
traction in the Industry (At least here in Germany).

I would generally be willing to step in as Mentor.

However, I have seen with many asian communities, while they appreciate the
benefits being at the Apache Software Foundation brings, most of them seem to
be unwilling to play by our rules.

  *   Communication on mailing-lists
  *   Public discussions
  * Communication channels available to all

I usually see (Well actually I don’t see it, I just know it’s there) that
communication happens via WeChat, which is only available without problems to
chinese people. Other projects communicate almost exclusively via Feishu/Lark.

Are you aware that joining Apache comes with some expectations and how are you
planning on meeting these expectations?

Chris

Hi Willem

The proposal is interesting.

I have two questions:
- any relation with existing MQTT brokers (Apache ActiveMQ, etc) ?
- do you have plans to grow the community, especially "outside" of Asia ?
