The schedule is intended to be about reporting the the month/quarter prior to the reporting month by codlings, however the podling part is, albeit a quite important step, not very well catered for. The schedule focuses on mentor (as if they were outside of the podlings community) and Incubators PMC steps.
To be able to provide constant and comparable stats about everything measured (mailing lists, issues, etc) the schedule would require the podling to move the generation of the report to a minimal of 72 hrs before the start date of the report review cycle, because of podling internal review and delivery. Because the starting point of the first step in the schedule is 3 days (if not more) before the end of the period significant data might be missed. The podling's step is about the podling reporting. But it is also about learning. Learning to get to a point of consistently producing reports of good quality and on time). And since Mentors are part of the podling's community (the only - accredited - contributors there with vote binding status?!) the mentors steps should be part of the podling's sub-processes. The more correct schedule sould therefor be, based on Previous Month End (PME) : 1. PME + 5 days - Podling reports due by end of day 2. PME + 7 days - I-PMC signoff due by end of day 3. PME + 8 days- Report submitted to Board 4. PME + 15 days - Board meeting The suggestion above provides each party group ample time to initiate, complete the sub-processes of, and do the due diligence required for each of the steps. WDYT? Can this be implemented?
