Meh, arguably they do. One of the big issues is release cycles. It takes a ton 
of work and discussion, etc., to release Hadoop and M/R. OTOH, MRUnit is a 
pretty small-ish contrib that could be released more frequently, and could 
attract more contributors that don't necessarily need to understand every 
single in and out of Hadoop to help out the project, and grow the community.

+1, thanks Bertrand. I think that's the point -- give MRUnit a chance to hang 
around at Apache since it's totally related to Hadoop and could benefit the 
Hadoop community as a downstream product.
