Sure - but there's a marked difference between a member saying 'cool idea' and 'I'm willing to dedicate myself to mentoring this project' and all that entails. Lowering the bar so that if *any* ASF member says the project is of interest to them, I want to encourage that behavior happening here. Now, clearly, there needs to be a minimal level of involvement to exit the Incubator (at least three folks, demonstration of meritocracy, etc.). Again, my fear is that such a policy to mandate three members acting as mentors will prohibit any new projects that doesn't have a hive-mind of Java developers behind it. I'm just not seeing the problem that'll be solved by raising the bar so high. Have the projects with one interested mentor really been *that* disruptive?
