Then by all means go ahead with a proposal to the Geronimo PMC asking to start a new incubation project for BPEL as you say that there is enough people to work on it. Not a backdoor "patch" to ServiceMix. BPEL can be used standalone and BPEL was not in scope of ServiceMix. A BPEL JBI Component is not a problem at all. But a full BPEL implementation is a problem.
