I'm having trouble installing Gears on my Mac. If I visit the Gears install page on Chrome, I get the text to the left and the confirmation to the right that I can't use it under Chrome. If I visit the same page with Firefox, the left hand side looks the same but the right hand side of the page is simply blank, giving me no opportunity to download. My 14 year old son has exactly the same software config. although his Macbook is slightly older. He has had no problem.
