It is not what you want when you want to be able to reproduce from the version control system the files that went into a particular release or snapshot, complete with the typos present in the log messages that went into that release's or snapshot's ChangeLogs. It is also not what you want to give free access to everyone to correct typos in log messages, when you want mistakes in so doing to be readily revertable. We do not however need to do anything different with ChangeLogs to change the version control system. -- Joseph S.
