In addition:

It would be nice if checkin comments would contain a link to the patch
submission in gcc-patches.  Often the patch submission contains a high
level description and a lot of useful background information that is
not always obvious from the patch. Usually it can be found by
searching the archives, but it would be much nicer to have a direct
link.
