--- Comment #11 from David Edelsohn <dje at gcc dot gnu.org> --- Do not use GNU Binutils on AIX 5.3 (or later). GNU assembler and GNU linker do not work properly with recent releases of AIX. Installing GCC does not require installing all parts of the toolchain. Again, I strongly recommend that you simply use GCC from Bull Freeware or Perzl.
