I'm testing this at the moment on cygwin, and will test it later on linux; Sean, could you give it a try on SPARC and check that it successfully disables building the plugin? (Don't forget to regenerate the two configure files, I omitted that diff from the patch. If you'd prefer, I could send a version with the full diff; just ask if so.)
