No, that is not true, although the effect has been equally terrible. Indeed, you only need to say that my bug is invalid. However, it is common in many forms of written communication that one assures him/herself that the other has read and understood everything. Maybe I should have assumed that this was the case, but reacting on one out of three issues in my bug report was not very convincing in this matter.
