On x86-64 linux using valgrind:

==2713== Invalid read of size 8
==2713==    at 0x45C16C: resolve_common_vars (resolve.c:657)

and 

==2713== Invalid read of size 1
==2713==    at 0x45C230: resolve_common_vars (resolve.c:657)

No segfault but doing something wrong.
