Hi Mark,

First, thanks for doing the survey!

No problem. The defaults are the current state. I figure that if there was a
package you felt strongly about handling different then we already do... You’d
hunt it down and change that before you did anything else. :-)

Thanks. It’s the same set of categories used by the online repository.

I think we should probably have more categories. The “Utilities” section is
huge. Things like a calculator and cdrom driver should really be grouped
separate.

I thought about it and maybe I’ll eventually add it. After all, this survey
uses data from the online repo and package lists from the installer sources to
generate the survey. So, it should never get “stale”.

I left out a “select all” for two reason. First, I scan be lazy and ain’t the
biggest JavaScript fan. Second, if you clicked select all for a group, you may
not have thought about each item in that group.

Then again, if we do our job right and break things into categories correctly,
you shouldn’t need to think about everything in that group every time.

Yup. The online repo keeps growing. It has gotten to the point that we really
need to start limiting what goes on the install media.

For example, it’s fine to have 6 hex editors available in the online repo for
easy download and install. But by including all of them in a release, we end up
making everyone download all of them when most people may never use any of them.

Or at least more categories...

Like maybe Device drivers, disk utilities and more.

Look at “Boot Tools” it has 3 items. “Utilities” has around 100 and
over-bloated.

Thank you.
