Hello Mr. Jim Hall,
I'd appreciate a discussion here about these programs and my evaluations of
their licenses. Especially the ones in red ("no") or yellow ("maybe"). Do
you agree with the decisions here? What are your thoughts on the ones I
marked in yellow?
Thank you for the work! I would just like to make some minor
clarifications regarding the gcc-ia16 toolchain:
(*) I am not sure there should be a separate i16src.zip package. I am
assuming that this refers to the "Source code" link on my GitHub
releases page, but these were generated automatically by GitBub (not
packaged by me!), and contain only the top-level build scripts.
I have included the actual sources --- more precisely, diffs --- for
GCC, Binutils, and Newlib inside the i16gcc.zip, i16butil.zip, and
i16newlib.zip package files, together with the binary code.
I hope to be able to release the top-level build scripts in a reasonable
way.
(*) The IA-16 port of Newlib is perhaps more accurately described as
comprising code under a mix of free software licenses (see
https://sourceware.org/newlib/COPYING.NEWLIB), though as far as I can
tell the licenses are quite compatible with the GPL v3.
Thank you!
