Hi,
The main problem isn't so much mentioning CuteMouse here. It is
indeed now a FreeDOS project, erstwhile maintained by our own resident
expert, Eric Auer. http://cutemouse.sf.net (formerly by Daniel Nagy).

The problem is that DOS compatible VDMs like WinXP's NTVDM or Linux's
DOSEMU don't allow non-native mouse drivers to work. At least, not
last I checked, so you're stuck to their own solutions, which usually
means no wheel, even for programs that support it (and, as mentioned,
presumably WP5.1 does not). So any effect you get is from WinXP alone
(and/or TameDOS), so you won't be able to get much (?) help from us
regarding that. If WinXP doesn't work right, it's an incompatibility
we can't (directly) fix. There is no real "DOS" there (esp. not
FreeDOS), only a half-working emulator.
