Hi - please send mail in plain text without html! - your problem is known: SB Live! drivers are pretty badly written, so they need to allocate their memory in a special place in RAM. Sometimes they show a message if they cannot. According to your report, sometimes they just get unstable instead?
Anyway, you should use the EMM=2048 (or another suitable value < 4096) and the SB options for FreeDOS EMM386, to get a specially SB Live! driver compatibility optimized configuration. That should solve your problems. > When you in the MSDOS 7.10 load=20 > 1) emm386 > 2) smartdrive > 3) sbeinit (emulation driver for SB Live!) > ,the SBENIT reports a error "I cannot reserve memory under 4MB boundary" > or something similar. You have to call SBEINIT before Smartdrive. ...
