Don't forget about DMCA, which prohibits these rules (there not sayed, that you may break protection for research purpose of backup; this is why there was so many fuss around Adobe lwasuit against Sklyarov and similar tryings to prevent publication of research materials about holes in media files "protection").
I don't think the DMCA applies to Hong Kong where Johnson Lam is from... lol
