Hi,
I vote for Bernd's idea: Make ALTBOOT an ignored option - at it would enable
the behaviour which FreeDOS EMM386 has as default anyway - and introduce a
NOALTBOOT option which suppresses INT9 (keyboard) hooking.
Apart from that, "/" in front of options could be treated as optional, to
allow more "flexible" command line syntax.

PS: About the tab-completion-beep problem in FreeCOM: I think this is really
a FreeCOM (C compiler library delay/nosound/sound) problem with Johnson's
hardware. So it probably even happens in MS kernel. I think the kernel has no
influence on this at all. A test program would just produce a beep :-).
