     _If_ you not use graphics, you _may_ extend base memory over A000
segment notwithstanding videoadapter type. Of course, doing this through
EMM386 is not most convenient way (because EMM386, unlike VIDRAM, can't turn
extension off at any time), but on some machines this may be useful as
permament config or through menu.

PS: I myself sometime extend base memory over A000 with help of VIDRAM
before processing big files in some programs, which use only base memory.
