I've received a public request via part of a bugzilla
comment on a submittal:

"can you please stop treating our bug tracker and mailing
lists as your personal blog?"

I'm not trying to gauge general interest in reading my
posts: it is perfectly normal for appropriate list
material to not be of interest to more than some subset
of folks. Instead I'm after learning if some of my posts
are viewed as inappropriate posting activity --and, if
some are, what about them is inappropriate (what should
not have been posted).

I've picked sending this request to freebsd-arm and
freebsd-current, as I probably post to those more than
to other lists most of the time. (Also, this sort of
request does not fit well with bugzilla.) But replies
need not be limited to content from those 2 lists.

Hi Mark,

we should all consider your emails, with explanations, complaints, investigations, etc, as contributions, even if sometimes a bit noisy. The lists would be much quieter and probably less interesting without them. If you ever worry about hogging CPU cycles or bandwidth, consider donating a few dollars to the FreeBSD Foundation.

So don’t hold back, keep sharing your thoughts, and thanks for keeping the lists lively and energized !

Cheers,
Marek
