I always set my download dir to ~/Downloads. Downloads were failing even after latest update to chromium-94.0.4606.81_1. I thought tmpfs /tmp could contribute to the problem but no change when I removed tmpfs /tmp. Changing download dir to ~/ results in functional downloads.
