Hello, I am unable to reproduce the mentioned error on my setup. But I remember similar bug, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=494222
The issue was that when Falkon was configured in the system to open protocol it cannot handle, it would (by qtwebengine) push this on the operating system (without asking), which would in return try to open another Falkon tab/window. A possible solution is to ask what to do with unknown protocols. Looking at the code, this feature was there with webkit and not available with webengine. I wonder if there is a way to bring it back.
