Running into an odd one here, building a new desktop with enlightenment,
and on a bare install, when I fire up enlightenment, I get two things:

1. on startup, E takes up *all* of the system memory, including the swap,
for about 30-45 seconds, and then suddenly, frees it all back up, but
system is completely unusable during that time.
2. the wallpaper picker doesn't display any images to choose from to set a
wallpaper, and doesn't seem to want to display any kinds of image files in
general.

I suspect these two problems are probably related in some way, so just
wondering if someone has seen this and can go "Oh! It's 'x' or 'y' that
fixes it"

details: efl 1.22.2 with enlightenment 0.18.8 running on Gentoo (perhaps a
build flag might be missing? clearly mine to sort out, of course)
