I had the same a little while back. I fixed it by going into Settings ==>
Application Theme ==> Icons and selecting an icon theme. I tried to
reproduce the issue later ( ie rm -rf ~/.e and restart ) and couldn't
reproduce it, so assumed it had been fixed.
