That's one possible reason. Another is that it's nice to have a native EFL solution. Cuts down on shared libraries being loaded, making for a faster startup. Yet another reason is because display managers, text editors, whatever other software family you use, all individually behave slightly differently. They may all solve a common problem, but they do so in ways that may be more useful to some. Hmm, that's a variant on "diversity", I suppose. See, even my reasons are duplicated. More reasons. It's cool. Just because. Scratches an itch. Curiosity. Anarchy. Boredom. World domination. Choose your own answer. Supply your own. They're all valid, for various people. Personally, I think Raster leans towards that last reason.
