Thanks, I couldn't find that menu.

Mmmh, I'm wondering if my e18 deb is broken, or what else is going on.

I have
Left Button + Alt / Action context window -> move
Middle Button + Alt / Action context window -> resize

Yet neither works either with a terminal window, nor with google-chrome.

I even tried restore default bindings, but that didn't help either :-/

Interestingly, alt+middle button causes the X buffer to be pasted, so
it's as if X or e18 didn't see my alt key while other apps are seeing
said key.

xev says:
KeyPress event, serial 32, synthetic NO, window 0x5e00001,
    root 0xb2, subw 0x5e00002, time 138239486, (37,48), root:(1626,1092),
    state 0x10, keycode 64 (keysym 0xffe9, Alt_L), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False

Is there a chance that e18 is reading my alt key wrong and ignoring it?

Thanks,
Marc
