I have a specific reason for using Debian 6.08 -- another part of the project 
I am working on depends on it.

They are packages I created from the tarballs from enlightenment.org.

Yes, I had E17 installed and I believe I removed *all* remnants of that 
install. 

Oh, BTW: E18 also crashes on Debian 7, and yes it also had E17 installed and 
yes I believe I removed *all* remnants of that install.

Is there something I can check to be totally sure E17 was properly cleaned 
off?
