yeah, I'm aware that git is going to be more unstable. But I've been using E17 for over 5 years and it hasn't feel this unstable for a long time. I guess it's because of merging composite deep within E, because when I try to get into the composite option E crashes
As for the icons, I have oxygen theme installed, selected in KDE options, Gnome Options and E options (preferences -> apearance -> applications theme -> incons). The problem is not with the icones, but with the .desktop files. I can only see the .desktop files that are un ~/.local/share/applications/ and not all the ones in /usr/share/applications. This is something that used to work 'out-of-the-box' in older versions I compiled (and I would say in all of them), so I don't know what changed 2013/6/23 Kevin Brandstatter <[email protected]> > well if your using the git sources, there is likely going to be a little > bit of instability due to it being development code and not release code. > > for the icons, try changing your icon theme, and making sure that you > have one installed. > > also using debian jessie myself and havent had any issues with stability > with the released versions > -Kevin > > On 06/23/2013 04:58 PM, Wido wrote: > > Hi All, > > > > It's been a while since I don't recompile everything, so I loned the git > > sources and gived it a try again (I used to have e17 'stable'). > > > > As a user, I noticed a few things: > > * E17 has become a little unstable.
