well the fact that you are trying to use ecore_x libs from ubuntu packages
implies that ecore_x didn't build - which means u are missing dev pkgs for x. a
window not being able to be created in x11 means either evas's software-x11
enigne is missing (no x libs or headers), or the whole ecore-x and x support is
not enabled (same thing - missing x libs/headers).

when you compile efl it tells you all of this at configure time. what is and is
not enabled. i would have hoped/expected you to provide build logs.
