I'd already deleted all config and re-installed most of trunk before
the LC_ALL problem occured. Am quite shure that an old efreet cache is
not the culprit. Things behave quite normal yet except of "messaging
problems", i.e. the ibox shows nothing and ethumb_client can't start
the dbus-service because it's guessed to not exist, though the
service file is there and starting ethumbd manually lets ephoto work
again!

Possibly I have to clean it all up and re-start from scratch. What
about a file in trunk showing the correct installation order ;)

Btw., the b/w crash dialog shows at least two syntax errors (two words
in wrong order, and the name of the first button is wrong in the text),
but I remember only vaguely. Not a high-priority issue, I guess.

Best wishes,
