I cleaned stuff out, which was installed by Ubuntu and run the script again.
I added sudo make uninstall before make clean

still no joy. The startup screen appears very short, with some text in white 
and then the screen becomes black, like switched off.

I couldn't find any doubles.
I have 2 libeet, one in trunk/... and one in /usr/local/lib,
simular with header files in /include
etc.
