I'm using a thinkpad t61 with an intel gpu (which I think is an Intel GMA X3100). I'm using the latest package for debian in the E original site and the ecomorph plugin (with comp enabled). Al the 3d works great, except when using multiple displays (whitout the ecomorph, multihead work like a charm)
I don't have the same bug you do, but I hope my setup helps you determine what is going on in you setup cheers 2010/10/23 Carsten Haitzler <[email protected]> > On Sat, 23 Oct 2010 13:28:54 +0800 waterloo <[email protected]> said: > > > there u go. open source driver problem - as best i know. evas gl enigne > requires full shader support (GLSL - opengl2.0). as best i know the open > drivers dont support that - well thats the only explanation for them not > working that i can think of. evas' gl engine and even compositor works like > a > charm on FULL featured drivers (which interestingly mostly happen to all be > closed drivers :)). this INCLUDES opengl-es2.0 embedded gpu's (i have seen > it > all work on s5pc110, s3c6410, omap3430/3530, nvidia tegra2 - all of which > came > with properly fixed up (yet closed) drivers). works on my desktop machines > (nvidia based with nvidia closed drivers which i'd consider pretty much the > gold standard when it comes to well done drivers - not perfect, but much > better > than the rest, except possibly the sgx drivers for some of the embedded > gpu's). > > i have no intel based hw that has a gpu capable of glsl shaders, and the > radeon > open source driver last i tried barely managed to make my radeon 4650hd > work on > my laptop. it was pretty sluggish for basic non-composited 2d, and 3d just > didnt do anything with evas's gl engine in use. > > so i'd say - use fglrx. i just don't trust the open drivers (fglrx has its > own > issues though). > > > I use composite module. > > > > In Composite Settings I choose : > > Effects: Shadows, Smooth scaling > > Sync: Sync screen, Sync windows, Loose sync > > Engine: OpenGL > > Memory: Send flush, Keep hidden windows, Maximum hidden pixels 32M > > Timeouts: Min hidden 5 Minutes, Max hidden 10 Hours > > > > I can use fglrx driver in E17, but can not use open source driver in E17. > > > > Thanks > > > > 2010/10/22 Carsten Haitzler <[email protected]> > > > > > On Fri, 22 Oct 2010 19:56:03 +0800 waterloo <[email protected]> > said: > > > > > > driver bug? using e17 compositor module? what are your settings if you > use > > > comp? works fine on my radeon, but texture-from-pixmap doesnt work > right > > > (has > > > sync bugs - a driver issue) and i use fglrx - open source radeon > drivers > > > dont > > > work. as far as i know its all driver bugs/shortcomings. > > > > > > > My computer is Thinkpad W500 , which have two video card: one intel > > > > integrated card and one ati radeon hd 3650 discreted card. > > > > > > > > I install E17 under intel integrated card. > > > > > > > > When I change to ati card using open source driver , I cannot come > into > > > > desktop of E17 , at that time the system is halt and screen is mess > up . > > > > > > > > When I using property driver of ATI, everything is OK. > > > > > > > > When changing video card , I change xorg.conf setting and run ' > eselect > > > > opengl ...'
