I believe this is immediately after the pager is updated (the long writes contain XCopyArea's). On my box I get in a similar scenario a delay of ~ 10 ms. It looks like things are stalled because of something that happens outside e16 (the server, other client?). Not sure where to go from here. The only suggestion I have just now is to try 0.16.8.14, although I have no reason to think it behaves any differently.
