The first problem can be "fixed" two ways.  Eterm is fairly old school.  You
make your selection, then use a middle click to paste.  The second way would
be to change the key mapping in your user.cfg file.  I think using something
like this in your action context:
  bind button3 copy("clipboard")
will make Eterm's cut-n-paste behave as you expect.
