I tried upgrading to KDE 3.5.5 (using the repository at 'deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-355 dapper main'). The problem is still there; however, it now seems to happen only with the saved windows that are automatically re-created when I start KDE. :/ PS: Also, this version of KDE introduces an interesting bug where KDE and E have orthogonal ideas of how many desktops there are. If you tell KDE you want four desktops, then tell E you want four desktops, you end up with 16. (Kicker shows all of them.) Of course, this is a problem for the KDE team.
