gianpaolo - check to see that you've got libjpeg installed. my FC3
linux box has libjpeg-6b-33 (and, probably more importanly,
libjpeg-devel-6b-33) installed by default. verify (and i have *no* idea
how you'd do this on a macintoy ;) that you've got that library
installed, and if not, you'll need to download and build it yourself.
